Whenever I put the last screw in, plug in my laptop, and hit the Power button, there’s always this moment where I’m not sure what’s going to happen. My heart skips a beat as I wait for first the “BONG!”, and then the Apple symbol to appear on the screen. Did I do it right? Did I mess anything up in the process? Will it work?
I swapped the DVD drive from my older MacBook Pro into my newer one to replace the broken one it came with. It’s very satisfying to be able to do these kinds of repairs on my own, and I really enjoy learning more about how to fix and build things.
I’m finally almost through moving out of the guest room so we can start painting. It’s been a long, hard slog, but i can finally really see the light at the end of the tunnel, and it feels good.
I’ll be headed out to Lee’s place, my future home, again tomorrow for his birthday party. Singing around the campfire, literally, there the other night helped me see past the psychological brick wall of prepping my house for sale and into a beautiful, cheaper, more simple future that will soon be my everyday reality.
I can’t fucking wait.
