The Revolution Is Life

Look, I really don’t believe that anyone can work for a revolution separate and distinct from [one’s] own personal happiness or love-needs. Such a person wouldn’t have any way of knowing the difference between what is true and what is false. It isn’t that we’re trying to do two things at once — set up a counterlife and work for a revolution; the two are halves of the same whole and the absolutely essential thing is to keep juggling them.

    “Two halves of the same whole” doesn’t seem like the right visualization to me. One is more fundamental than the other.
