In this excellent episode of the C-Realm Podcast, Marshall Brain, founder of How Stuff Works and author of Manna discusses how automation will continue to destroy many good jobs in favor of fewer, shittier jobs with no end in site. How will, for instance, truck drivers react when they are replaced by robots? It will happen in the next ten years.

  3. Are those jobs just debt slavery mechanisms at this point, funneling working consumers back into the mainstream crap-manufacturing marketing machine that is known to be poisoning them anyway? There are known to be more than enough resources for a guaranteed basic income, aren’t there? So many people seem to think so, and they sure sound smart when they talk about it… I want to create some kind of localized, community-centric, guaranteed basic income… I have no idea if it will work. But I’m intrigued by the possibilities.
