Game Magic

After hearing this fascinating interview on Expanding Mind, I ordered a copy of Game Magic, and am investigating Arcana, described as Minecraft for ritual. Dr. Jeff Howard, a professor teaching game design, uses his extensive knowledge of historical systems of magic to help game makers create deep and rich magical experiences for their players that go beyond the “magic as artillery” motif common in many current A-list game titles. The timing is good, as I’m about finally graduate from The House Project and turn my sights back toward professional game design.
